Changes Done For The Moment…

Whew! Finally got some serious updates done. Fixed the CSS issues with the Photo Gallery and now that my site is not in Frames anymore you folks will just have to get used to using the Back button more frequently.

I’ve hardcoded the outbound links to your left so there won’t be anymore notification when those sites have been updated. I’m still deciding whether I’ll go back to blogrolling the links, but I’ve added a short website review for each site. (Check the top link with the red star) I thought that might be helpful for those of you looking for something new.

Now I just have to work on adding photos to the gallery.

Yup, I’ve got more work to do.

OK, this post has been written to send the obligatory Monday morning ping to the blogosphere.

I did spend most of the morning working on updating my outbound links. I haven’t posted the changes yet as I want to completely finish this current set rather than make a few updates each day.

Looks like most of the site links are working. I’ve got to fix the Photo Gallery as the colors are off and I need to add navigation links back to the home page. I think the site worked better in Frames, BUT I am trying to wean myself from that crutch as best I can.

Have plenty of errands to take care of now, but I’ll be back later with some updates.

Did we not learn anything from prohibition?

Dawn posted yesterday about the Dell dude getting busted for marijuana possession and the strong focus on marijuana in the new anti-drug campaigns. Her post was well written and I won’t rehash what she said. I just wanted to add that the ads that really made me angry were the ones that linked drug use to terrorism. That’s pretty lame. It’s bad enough the government has a “terror alert” every other week (with no clear action plan mind you), but are they really running out of ideas for this holy crusade? I thought those ads were even less credible tying them to pot smoking. Please… have you ever seen a violent pot smoker?

Personally, I think their “war” generates too much revenue for them to give it up. I agree with what Dawn said in her post. Like Greg, I know plenty of people who don’t fit the stereotypical pot-smoker “duuuuude!” mold. Hell, I know plenty of hardcore Republicans that smoke daily which makes me wonder sometimes who’s actually keeping this war alive? As Dan Savage pointed out in covering the Aaron Palmer trial, there are a lot of people who have tried pot at least once in their lifetime. Marijuana certainly has more positive benefits then nicotine and isn’t responsible for as many deaths.

OK, that’s about all I can ramble this morning.

Here kitty kitty…

large tigerMichelle & I hit a bridal show a couple weekends ago. The highlight for me was getting our picture taken with this beige tiger cub UNTIL I saw the quality if the pic.

I guess I should have known it wouldn’t be the sharpest photo as they were using one of those Sony Mavica floppy disk cameras, but DAMN, we were pretty disappointed.

Oh well, just reminds me that I have to remember to bring my camera EVERYWHERE.

Now for the fun part…

Well, the domain appears to be moved and now I’m tasked with the new layout. Heh… should be a piece of cake right? Well, not if you’ve got quite a number of HTML files and your whole site used to be setup in Frames.

Will be working this morning on some changes, hopefully having some updates a little later today.

UPDATE – Well the frames are gone, hence no left side menu. I’ve managed to parse through a hundred files or so and I’m taking a break while I ponder exactly how I’m going to get the new layout together.
