DFW Events – Week of April 12th

Hello dear readers. A mid-day post to keep you updated on this week’s events happening in Dallas/Ft. Worth:

DPPA – Tuesday, April 14th at 6:30pm – Jerry Ward will be on hand to present, “Know your camera so you can be creative.”

Texas Glamour Club – Wednesday, April 15th at 7pm – Studio open house. Darryl invites all new members to come by and see where the magic happens.

DDPMG – Thursday, April 16th at 5pm (4 day trip) – Take a trip with Jen Copes & Co., to Fredericksburg, TX for a nature photography adventure. Cost $395

Texas Glamour Club – Friday, April 17th at 6pm – Evening photo shoot with Keilye Kennedey. Darryl & Jeremy will be on hand to assist new photographers. Cost $99

DDPMG – Saturday, April 18th at 6:15AM – Come see why this Tiger shoot is one of the club’s most popular events. This is an early morning event. Cost $50

DFWAUG – Saturday, April 18th at 11am – Action packed double-feature! See Captivate 4 & Lightroom 2! Yours truly will be on hand for some LR quicktips.

DDPMG – Saturday, April 18th at 11am – 17th Annual Grapevine Village Wine Trail. Cost $45

Texas Glamour Club – Sunday, April 19th at 1pm – Model currently TBA. Cost $99

DDPMG – Sunday, April 19th at 6:30pm – Arlington Camera will be giving a demonstration on camera sensor cleaning techniques.

DFW Events – Week of April 5th

Hola! Here we are at the beginning of another week. Sometimes you need a little extra motivation to get up on a Monday morning. For me, it’s wondering how I’ll pull off two classes today, one in Arlington then another tonight in Dallas. Fortunately, there are a lot of events for you to checkout in Dallas this week. Oh, and before I forget today is the last day for you to grab the latest MacHeist 3 bundle of software. They’ve raised over $400k for charity, and you get the benefit of amazing Mac software for only $39.

Richardson Entrepeneurs – Monday, April 6th at 7pm – Details appear still TBA. There is also another meeting scheduled for later this month, so this might be a misprint.

Texas Glamour Club – Tuesday, April 7th at 7pm – Join the crew at Mardi Gras Dallas for the usual BS & drinks.

North Texas Photo Club – Thursday, April 9th at 7:30pm – NTPC member Lisa Laxton will give a presentation on Digital Scrapbooking. Cost $8

Texas Glamour Club – Friday, April 10th at 7pm – Photography 101 “Working with Models” – learn the ins & outs of working with models. What is TFP, posing, etiquette, etc. Cost $25

Apple Corps Dallas – Saturday, April 11th at 9am – Come join one of the original Mac usergroups for a session with Bob “Dr. Mac” Levitus about Macs & iPhones.

Texas Glamour Workshop – Saturday, April 11th at Noon – Darryl Briggs delivers another one of his workshops, “Doing a lot with a little” creativity for the photographer on a budget. Special guest model Mia McKinley Cost $199

Texas Glamour Club – Sunday, April 12th at Noon – Leave it to Darryl to bring back one of the club’s most requested models Ashley Kimmel. Cost $99

DFW Events – Week of March 30th

Afternoon folks. Sorry for the late post, technically I missed the weekend. Here’s what’s happening around the Dallas metroplex this week:

DFW Digital Photo Club – Thursday, April 2nd at 7pm – Photography 101 – Camera Basics. Cost $39. For the beginner, get to know those buttons & dials on your camera.

DSVC – Friday & Saturday, April 3rd & 4th – It’s a full weekend of speakers at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel for The 5th Annual National Student Show & Conference. DSVC Members – FREE! Non-Members $10 (per speaker)

Dallas Digital Photography Group – Saturday, April 4th at 7pm – Dallas After Dark. Come join Jen Copes & crew as they take some night pictures of Dallas monuments.

It’s My Birthday & You’re at PhotoShop World

It’s my birthday, and I sure wish I was spending it at Photoshop World. In case you hadn’t heard you can watch the live Keynote on the PSW blog starting at 9am EST.

Truly, I would have been in Boston this week, but how could I miss my daughter’s first birthday? So while many of my Twitter peeps are gettin’ their Photoshop on, I’ll be makin’ up for missed travels by shooting the Red Carpet at tomorrow’s AFI Dallas festival.

At least Photoshop World is a semi-annual conference, so I can pick up all the cool stuff in the fall.

Happy Birthday to My Baby Girl!!!

It’s a special day as my daughter Sydney turned one years old. As a new parent, I’m amazed at how quickly one year has passed. Really. It’s an incredible feeling to see the embodiment of potential conceived from the love my wife & I share. Baby girl is joy, pure joy. 

I need to get the final pictures taken to complete the pages for Sydney’s first baby book. Feel free to leave birthday wishes, and enjoy these pics of baby girl.
