Spurs 101, Nets 89 – The Twin Towers Are Back!!!

Robinson came on strong with 4 blocked shotsThey didn’t give up the lead in the 2nd half. The Nets only came within 9 points and Duncan gave another MVP performance with 32 points, 20 rebounds, 7 blocks, 6 assists and 3 steals. Add 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks from David Robinson (who seemingly turned back the clock) plus a strong performance by Tony Parker and there’s no arguing the Spurs are out to win another NBA championship.

Jason Kidd couldn’t find any rhythm tonight. All the inside lanes were closed and after making two quick baskets Kidd’s drought lasted ten shots into the game. Kenyon Martin wasn’t a factor as he took two fouls early in the first quarter, sat out over 7 minutes in the 2nd half only to foul out before the game was over.

Here’s hoping the Spurs can keep the momentum going to win the series.

No-Rad, because surviving a nuclear disaster is just the challenge you were looking for…

In the event of nuclear disaster, you’re f#cked!Damn, the marketing gurus beat me to the punch again. I was just thinking,

“How can I capitalize on the fear & paranoia of consumers today?”

Apparently, should you be fortunate enough to survive a nuclear disaster these magic pills will do battle with any leftover radiation that sees fit to turn your body into a grotesque mutation with zombie-like tendancies. Of course, who’s to say the guy that stocks up on these pills actually remembers to store lots of bottled water? Better yet, what if the bomb hits and you’re away from home?

“Aw crap, my pills are in my other jacket… Well, there goes the day.”

I doubt 28 days after any global disaster would be a picnic. Hmmm… I’ll take vaporization and instantaneous death for $2 Alex.

I’m still getting adjusted to my new schedule. I should be asleep now, but one of the gatos decided it would be nice to leave Michelle & I a gift in the form of a hairball on the bed. Clean sheets we got, but the comforter needs a washing. While Michelle drifts off to dreamland, I’m waiting for the next spin cycle to finish. Heh, why is it “our cats” are cute, but “my cats” cause all the trouble?

*chuckle*

So in about 4 hours I’ll jump in the shower and drag my butt to school. This AM schedule will kill me if math class doesn’t first. Pretty soon I’ll be downing No-Dose with some Code Red Mountain Dews… Yup, that’s paints an interesting mental picture…

Maybe not for you…

Bloggers Anonymous…

Metal Bands Will Never DieMy name is A.J. and I am a blogaholic. When I’m not reading other blogs I’m actively planning what I should write in my own blog. Like many addicts my condition didn’t happen overnight. As a geek in training I suckled on my first 2400 baud modem connection waiting 20 minutes for image downloads while slammin’ BBS chat rooms with anyone who happened to stumble through. I’ve typed feverously in DOS with only the X-Modem protocol for e-mail exchanges. Those were the days. When geeks of the world got excited that a 210MB hard drive could be found for as little $650. I’ve survived CompuServe, Netcom, MindSpring, Earthlink, skipped over AOL, enjoyed Netscape and I once made $4K building a static website with only two animated GIFs and three pages of content.

Recently, I was forced to come to grips with my addiction. Quite a few bloggers seem to be on again, off again. Whether it’s brief intermissions, finding your inner-voice, or the hoopla that comes with thousands of adoring (drooling) fans, strangers & personal favorites alike are stepping away from their computers and unplugging from the Matrix. The state of the blogosphere has been the topic of many a discussion and while the realists call bullsh%t some have plenty of advice to pass long.

With this instability I’m left with a problem. If all the blog links I feverously click on aren’t updated with daily content what am I supposed to do? How will I write my own posts if I can’t trackback to everyone on the planet? What about all my comment companions? Surely, Fred needs to tell us what happened with his dog Sparky so Bettie can say something cute? And I about died when one of Ryan’s readers posted a link about Mariah Carey trashing a Def Leppard song. I mean I just saw them last Friday so that comment really spoke to me…

I’m just a wreck I tell you. Lots of free time and no f#ckin’ direction. My blog is my life, it’s like bloggers get me ya know?

…and then he said f#ck it.

Spurs 90, Mavericks 78 – Bring On The Nets!!!

We’re going to the finals! The Spurs were down by six at the end of the first half and it seemed like 13 points would be a tough lead to catch going into the 4th quarter, BUT give it up for Steve Kerr for making 12 POINTS COMING OFF THE BENCH. Not only did he tie the game up at 71 a piece, but he made all his three point attempts giving the Spurs the lift they needed to close out Game 6.

He gets my vote for MVP tonight.

After Game 5 it seemed the Mavericks figured crowding Tim Duncan from the basket was the key to victory as the rest of the Spurs avoided shooting the ball in their 4th quarter collapse. Tonight seemed like deja vu as the Mavericks jumped into the lead early and were aggressive on offense. With a double digit lead going into the 4th quarter the Mavericks shifted to cruise control giving Stephen Jackson a chance to light up the boards with some 3-pointers. Slowly the lead was whittling away and before the Mavericks realized it Steve Kerr was in the game and the Spurs offense EXPLODED.

A 23-0 run put any doubts to bed and now the Spurs need to get ready for Jason Kidd and the Nets.

Mavericks 103, Spurs 91… Oops…

This is how you play to win!I could break it down for you all fancy like, but the end result would be the same – the Spurs gave away Game 5. They stumbled, they balked, they tripped, they stood in awe, they folded, they quit, they refused to win, they decided they wanted to road trip to Dallas.

Michelle & I know the game the Spurs are capable of playing. Let’s hope they decide to bring that to Dallas on Thursday.

Makes me wish I finished working on the pictures from this past weekend. Hopefully, I’ll get those photos up for y’all tomorrow.
